Meet the Creative Team

The creative team takes what the writers give them and make it magazine ready. They add color, pop, and aesthetics - everything that pleases the eye.

Jaqueline Funes is our Creative Director. She is also very active as a photographer/ graphic designer for the magazine. Jackie likes to take pictures and she also enjoys drawing during her free time. When she was presented the opportunity for this position and she thought it would be something she would enjoy. She believes that her experience with taking pictures will be a good asset to the magazine.

Shivani Patel is one of our media/creative interns. She is passionate about photography as it allows her to exercise and express her creativity. She hopes to pursue engineering in the future. Shivani enjoys traveling and she hopes she will be able to travel all over the world after high school. By being a part of the magazine, Shivani wanted to contribute her part in bringing more diversity to the world. She hopes to use her creativity, photography, and editing skills to help promote culture as well as allow and encourage young adults to express themselves and share their accomplishments through People Project Magazine.

Karis Kelly is one of our creative interns/photographers. She is a student at Holy Trinity High School. She is involved with a plethora of clubs such as Science Olympiad and Student Government. She is also a part of JEC and the Chicago Youth Alliance for Climate Action. In the future, Karis hopes to become a part of the medical industry by becoming a doctor. When she first heard of People Project Magazine, she thought it was a great idea! The reason for the magazine was something she felt she could get behind. She ended up sending in some photography - originally for an outside project - and everything fell into place. Now, as creative director, Karis looks forward to helping with photoshoots throughout Chicago.

Christian Crespo is one of our media/creative interns. He is in the academy at Bartlett High School and what drives him to succeed is his friends and family. He joined People Project Magazine because he thought it would be interesting to be a part of it. When he heard about it, he couldn't resist wanting to help out with such an awesome concept. He looks forward to working hard and making People Project Magazine relevant in the media. His future plans include going to UIUC, hopefully working for Apple and having a big role in the future for the company. He wishes to travel when he's older to Greece or Tokyo. Some hobbies and passions he has include sports, like volleyball, basketball, and track. He also enjoys cooking and playing the violin.

Mark Nguyen is one of our marketing/creative interns. His passions are track, cross country, volleyball, robotics, and drawing. He joined People Project Magazine because showcasing world cultures in a magazine seemed such a newfangled idea to him. He looks forward to growing the idea of this People Project Magazine and making it go global.
