Finance Team
The finance officers and business administration interns handle everything behind-the-scenes. They find and make sure we have enough resources to keep People Project Magazine going.
Karis Kelly is our Business Administrator. She is a student at Holy Trinity High School. She is involved with a plethora of clubs such as Science Olympiad and Student Government. She is also a part of JEC and the Chicago Youth Alliance for Climate Action. In the future, Karis hopes to become a part of the medical industry by becoming a doctor. When she first heard of People Project Magazine, she thought it was a great idea! The reason for the magazine was something she felt she could get behind. She ended up sending in some photography - originally for an outside project - and everything fell into place. Now, as creative director, Karis looks forward to helping with photoshoots throughout Chicago.

Asmita Shah is our business/finance interns. She manages the finance interns as well as working with the marketing team. She is interested in business, so she looks forward to getting experience dealing with finances and seeing how an effective business can be run in real life. In her free time, she runs Cross Country, Track and Field, bake, sketch, and read. When she heard the idea of bringing greater awareness to the stories of immigrants and first-generation Americans, like herself, she thought it was a great idea to educate and empower other kids. As a child of immigrants and part of the first generation born in the US, she has had a fair share of arguments and she understands the struggle that comes with being the "bridge" generation. She thinks it's important to let other kids know they are not alone and remind them that they have an important role as the first generation. She plans on making kids more interested in the news by including people's stories and real-life impacts as stories are told.

Nisarg Detroja is one of our business/ finance interns. In his spare time, Nisarg enjoys spending time with his friends and keeping busy with small projects. He joined People Project Magazine because he wanted to be a small part of the process that helped grow a great and prosperous magazine from just a few ideas. He looks forward to working closely with all the other people who are involved in People Project Magazine and making sure he works his hardest as one of the two finance interns.
